Couple standing outside with a large white dog

Woof has been finding forever homes for pets since 1990.

We've placed over 15,000 animals in loving homes across the tri-state region. Our available animal lists are updated every day based on activity at our centers. See the dedicated pages for dogs, cats and other small animals that are available for immediate adoption.

Frequent Questions to Ask During Pet Adoption

Common questions about pet adoption focus on a pet's health, behavior, history, and needs, alongside the adopter's lifestyle and readiness, covering topics like vaccinations, known issues (aggression, anxiety), compatibility with kids/other pets, past living situations, exercise requirements, training, and post-adoption support from the rescue. You should also ask about adoption fees, contracts, and what supplies are included.
